The Wasp!

So Bonnie, Buckley and I were sitting on the deck this afternoon and this wasp comes by and out of the corner of my eye I see him lift off a dog treat I had sitting on the table reserved for Zoey. It was small but still twice the size of the crazy strong wasp. So I got out the video camera hoping to catch him in the act again. I didn't catch him fly away again, but I got a cool closeup of him going at this piece of freeze dried dog treat! I think Cheap Trick's 'Mighty Wings' helps out the drama as well.

The Fence if Complete!!

So we've got a new bigger and better backyard now!! The guys came and put up the fence on tuesday. It took Bonnie 9 loads of hedges to the dump but we cleared the yard up and it looks fantastic!!

The result is below and it makes our yard so huge and open and bright, plus now we can let Zoey run around!! YAY!.

Fence for Zoey!!

So this past weekend Bonnie and I with the help of our friend Chris Krahn (and our neighbor with the van) dismantled our crazy hedge fence. We've wanted a wood panel fence for a long time and getting Zoey has pushed us to get it done! (Thanks Zoey)

My neighbor actually hooked up some rope to his van and we pulled out some of the side ones roots and all. After that I had to dig out all the other roots by hand...at least 25 of them. Not going to lie, that sucked.

Before I got a hold of the chainsaw!

During while I had the chainsaw...

After I finished it off with a chainsaw!!

The other side of the yard before...

...after.

The fence should be completed tomorrow by a company we hired and then Zoey should be able to have the run of the yard!

All my work was not unappreciated though, Zoey gave me some cuddles after I almost fell asleep on her bed.

Thanks for sharing Zoey.

Zoey!!

So after we relaxed and chilled out at home for a day or so we got a puppy!! We talked during our honeymoon about getting a dog and when we got home we were searching through the papers and online and came across and add that said Boxadore (Boxer/Lab) pups for sale so we phoned and ended up going to meet her that night! We fell in love with her and when we asked the family when we could take her home they said "Tonight if you want." so we have a puppy now!

Her name is Zoey and she's so cute and awesome!

Home!

We made it home!

After 40 hours of travel we arrived at Vancouver Airport at 2:30 in the afternoon yesterday.

We took: One shuttle - a ferry - a train - a bus - another train - a taxi - a hotel (3 hours sleep) - another taxi - a plane (3 hours) - another plane 9.5 hours) - and finally another plane (1hour) during which I got about 6 hours sleep total (Bonnie slept like a baby on the plane, I...not so much)

Anyhow, we spent our last night having a great dinner and just enjoying the last of time in Mykonos. The next day, begrudgingly, we got up had a good breakfast and headed out for our epic journey home.

...goodbye hotel lobby...

...goodbye ridiculously over sized cruise ships...

...goodbye journey home Greek fastfood...

...goodbye Greek Heineken...

...goodbye honeymoon.

...but HELLO FRIENDS AND FAMILY!

We missed you all and look forward to seeing everyone again! It was an amazing holiday and really great experience and we wished it never ended, but if it didn't, it wouldn't be a holiday I guess.

Love Jason and Bonnie!

Mykonos - We're on our last day!!

Well, we're on the last day of our holiday! We spent a couple of nights in Mykonos Town at the Rochari Hotel. It was a really really nice hotel, but the town itself was bit over the top. It's totally a party town and weren't really wanting a party town. Night time is crazy there! Restaraunts don't even open till 7:00 and even then they're dead, usually everything picks up around 10 or so and goes all night long. You know it's a party town when they serve breakfast at your hotel from 8am till 1pm. Nobody gets up before 8.

Wandering around during the day was nice, but the wind was so excessive. It's strange, every place we've been in Greece the wind has followed us. The first day on Mykonos there was no wind and we were like "Phew, finally we can just walk around without feeling like we're going to get blown away!" But the next day, the wind found us again and it was howling like crazy!

Windy Little Venice in Mykonos Town

All in all the stay in Mykonos Town was nice, it's a very picturesque place, we watched some amazing sunsets drank a few REALLY expensive drinks (you can't get a cocktail here for less than 10 euros) and just generally hung out together enjoying the last of our holidays.

Yesterday though we arrived at the Mykonos Grand Hotel just outide of Mykonos town. This was the place we splurged. We wanted the very end or our holiday to feel relaxing and special so we went with this place! We've done nothing here but sit at the pool, read books and soak in the sun (and wind dammit!). It's everything we needed before our big trip home. Our first night here we had a fantastic dinner just after sunset where we could see the blazing red sky in the background and the moon rising all in one view, it was pretty spectacular plus it was our one monthaversary of our wedding!! Can you believe it's already been a whole month!?!

View from our One Monthaversary dinner

Last night we went into the town Ornos and had dinner on the beach which was really nice, had some Sangria too it's rare to find so we endulged.

Having dinner at Ornos Beach

We have one last night here and then we begin our trek home at 10 in the morning, back to Athens where we sleep till 4 am and then catch our two stopover flight(Amsterdam and Seattle), ugh. It's weird to think that all of this will just be a memory soon. It's definately been a very amazing experience and I'm glad we've had the chance to do it. It's bittersweet, we miss our friends and family but wish we could stay forever watching sunsets and sipping wine, but all good things must come to an end so we're going to enjoy our last day lounging around have a nice dinner and begin our epic journey home again.

View from our balcony at Mykonos Grand

One more spectacular sunset to go!

Take care

We'll see you in a couple of days!!

Love Jason and Bonnie!

Crete Part 5 - Goodbye...

(Sorry I posted all of Crete today...I'm currently stealing the neighboring Cafe's internet to do it!)

It's our last day here, it's sad. I'm catching up on the blogging and we're just taking it easy. We have 5 more nights in Mykanos where we're going to relax and get ready for reality.

Our trip has been outstanding and I can't wait for Mykanos but the sun is setting our the holiday unfortunately, but that means we get to come home and see everyone again!!

See you all soon

Love Jason and Bonnie!!
